Frequently asked questions

For what maximum weight are Origine bicycles designed?
Ouvrir
Fermer
According with technical standards, our bicycles are designed and guaranteed for a maximum user weight of 110 kg, including their equipment.
What reference do I need to give for a bike painted to color on-demand specs?
Ouvrir
Fermer
We only work with automotive and RAL paint codes that have specific and very precise weights. Unfortunately, we cannot manufacture paints from other references (such as Pantone colours or a hexadecimal code).
On the configurator, choose the "Color on demand" colour, then add your RAL in Comments when confirming your order.
What is the maximum weight that can be carried on Origine Trail and Graxx racks?
Ouvrir
Fermer
The Graxx II and the TRail are both fitted with M5 bolts, we recommend that you load the racks to a maximum weight of 16kg at the rear and 6kg at the front.
If you are looking to carry more up front, the new fork on the Graxx III lets you to carry up to 12kg of luggage.
Is it possible to attach a trailer to a gravel bike?
Ouvrir
Fermer
You will need to find compatible axles. We should remind you both the Graxx and the Trail are lightweight bikes and therefore should not be suject to excessive loads.
Who are the retailers of Origine bicycles?
Ouvrir
Fermer
Keen to meet the expectations of our clients, Origine sells its bikes directly and exclusively on its website www.origine-cycles.com. Unlike a local bike shop or distributor's website, on our website you can build the bike to your specs based on the model you require, find technical details and specs, read road tests, get free advice from our technical advisers and find customer reviews.

We refuse to leave our customers to their own devices, we do not use call centres, when calling us its tool-free and you are only in contact with our own advisers available and ready to listen to you.

The order is made online, using secure payment. We help you to choose the size that suits you, thanks to our exclusive measuring tool. You are kept up to date of the availability of your bike and the progress of your order.

Your order is then delivered to the address of your choice.
Can I customise decal colours?
Ouvrir
Fermer
We are subject to technical constraints that oblige us to use special water-based transfers that are UV-resistant and varnished. Decals are ordered from specialised suppliers in large quantities to reduce costs and indirectly the price of bikes. For these reasons, we limit the choice to the following colours, grey, black, white, for all models, and to gold and blue for other models.
can I order a bike without decals and the Origine logo?
Ouvrir
Fermer
We have very specific graphics and a unique production process, we are not equipped to do à la carte decor, so we cannot accept special requests.
What are thes difference betweeen the Trail and the Graxx?
Ouvrir
Fermer
The Trail is an aluminum gravel bike with a carbon fork, while the Graxx is entirely made of monocoque carbon. It will be lighter, more high-performing, more comfortable, and also more expensive.
The Graxx comes in two versions. The GTO, which offers the best compromise between comfort and efficiency, and the GTR, dedicated purely to performance. The Graxx also offers full integration of ducts and hoses.

The Trail frame is crafted from premium, triple-butted aluminum, making it lightweight in its category at 1590g.
There is also a notable difference in geometry, with the Trail featuring a shorter and more upright design for a straighter and more comfortable riding position. The Graxx, on the other hand, is slightly longer and lower for improved performance on the road.
What are the differences between the Axxome GTO and Axxome GTR ?
Ouvrir
Fermer
Axxome GTO and Axxome GTR frames are made from the same carbon mould, but with different fibres. The Axxome GTO is made with Toray 800 high modulus fibres and uses internal moulds to homogenise the thickness of the carbon and eliminate resin residues. It is ideal for racing and is a perfect compromise between comfort and performance.
The Axxome GTR benefits from all the trickle-down technology and manufacturing processes of the Axxome GTO. However, it is lighter, stiffer and more demanding. Made with a Toray 1000 fibre, it is more suitable, and comfortable in the mountains. It is also more expensive than the Axxome GT.
What are the differences between the Axxome GTO and Axxome GTO Ultra ? And between the Axxome GTR and GTR Ultra?
Ouvrir
Fermer
The Ultra versions are bicycles designed for long distances. These bikes are equipped with a suitable fork, providing better vibration damping at the front. They also offer a slightly raised handlebar position for added comfort. Additionally, they feature fork mounts for increased and tailored carrying options for bikepacking and ultradistance riding.
Is it preferable to purchase a bike with disc or rim brakes?
Ouvrir
Fermer
Disc brakes give racing bikes a considerable braking advantage in the rain, on carbon rims and for heavy riders (+80kg). A disc-braking road bike frame is heavier than a rim-braking frame by 600 to 800g. Braking under heavy stress can cause heat to build up between the pad and the rotor. Rim braking will undoubtedly remain as it is still appreciated by a large number of cyclists.
How can I test and trial an Origine bike?

What are the differences between the Graxx GTO and Graxx GTR ?
Ouvrir
Fermer
The Graxx GTO and Graxx GTR frames are derived from the same mold, but with different carbon fibers. The Graxx GTO is made with high-modulus Toray 800 fibers and utilizes internal molds to homogenize the carbon thickness and eliminate any resin residues. It is perfectly suited for bikepacking and long distances, thanks to its ability to effectively filter out terrain imperfections, its ease of use, and its comfort in all circumstances. It achieves perfect balance between comfort and performance.

On the other hand, the Graxx GTR benefits from all the production processes of the Graxx GTO. However, it is lighter, stiffer, and more demanding. Manufactured with Toray 1000 fiber, it is more suitable for performance-oriented riding, whether on short, long, smooth, rough, or mountainous routes, and it remains very comfortable in its category as well. It is also more expensive than the Graxx GTO.

If having a bike that fits your image is important to many cyclists, it is also vital that the bike also fits you and that you are well positioned on it. Yet many people neglect this point and irrespective if a novice or a seasoned racer the position on the bike is the guarantee of your comfort and your performance.

When finalising the configuration of an Origine bike, there are several options when choosing the position on your bike.

Choose the frame size, stem length, handlebar width, cockpit height, crank length, and a saddle of the appropriate width. We leave the choice to you.

2- Use our Size Calculator
With just a few, easily determined measurements, it defines the exact dimensions of each component for a bike that will fit you perfectly.

How do you take your own measurements at home?

4- You have a recent bike fit or wish to replicate the settings of your current bike

Whatever your choice, one of our technical advisors will systematically call all customers to check measurements before we start production of your bike.

What type of turbo trainers can I use with Origine bikes?
Ouvrir
Fermer
Only Direct Drive turbo trainers with integral cassette or rollers that do not lock in the wheel spindles are compatible with Origine bikes. Turbo trainers that employ a screw-in locking system or that apply pressure on the frame must not, in any circumstances, be used with an Origine bike.

Within the complete Origine range, only road and gravel bikes can be used with turbo trainers. Mountain bikes and e-bikes are not compatible.

When using a turbo trainer, do not stand on the pedals to avoid damaging your bike and protect the frame from perspiration to avoid oxidising the paintwork and components.
I want a colour or decor that are not found in the configurator
Ouvrir
Fermer
Colour:
We believe that a bike that reflects you should do so completely and using our Colors On Demand® custom app you can find the colour scheme THAT YOU WANT.

When finalising your order, simply indicate in the "Comments" box a RAL colour chart number or the reference of any car manufacturer's colour scheme.

Good to know:
- We are not equipped to produce chrome or glitter tints, and unfortunately it is not technically possible to create a computer-generated of the bike with a custom colour scheme.

- The boundary between two colour areas cannot be changed as this requires time-consuming adjustments that cannot be made for a single bike.

Decor:
- For technical reasons, it is not possible to select other decors than those found on our configurator. It is not possible to customise the colour, change the position, add or remove them, or mix them with those of other models than the one initially selected.

Bike and frame weights
Ouvrir
Fermer
Bike weights are provided with a tolerance of +/- 3% due to the manufacturing process.

For frames, we specify the weight of a size S frame equipped with the headset, axles, seat clamp, derailleur hanger, and the components added in your configuration.

Depending on the model, there may be a weight difference of 20 to 40 grams between two frame sizes.
Mandatory frame identification
Ouvrir
Fermer
Marking is a legal requirement for all bikes sold in France from 1 January 2021. It is not mandatory in other countries.

It is done by placing a "PARAVOL" label that is clearly visible on the bike.
We automatically register the bike's identification number in the National File managed by an association called Apic.
At the time of delivery, you will receive a certificate with the identification number of your bike, as well as the means of accessing the National File, as such you are able to change any incorrect information if necessary.

If you resell your Origine bike, you must enter the details of the new owner.
