05/04/2016
The new Origine Axxome 350 is a high-performance, comfortable bike designed for demanding, performance-oriented cyclists.

Axxome 350 Origin
Origine, based in Gironde, France, is a team of enthusiasts serving enthusiasts. Don't expect to find this brand at your local bike shop, as it's only available on the brand's website. Here you'll find a configurator that lets you design your own bike to suit your tastes, with a multitude of combinations. It's simple and easy to use, allowing you to choose the bike of your choice. We chose the Axxome 350, the top-of-the-range model.
The brand is confident in the quality of the products it offers, and it can be. The frame and fork are guaranteed for life. And warranty means after-sales service. Origine deals directly with the customer. Once you've chosen your bike, it's shipped to your home by courier. Quality down to the last detail. The high-quality paint is used in the automotive industry. Bikes assembled and painted in France are varnished with the utmost care, guaranteeing superior resistance to impacts and stone chips.

Once unpacked, the Axxome reveals itself. The model tested is fitted with a Shimano Ultegra groupset, a sure bet. Braking is powerful and progressive, and shifting is precise and fluid. It's also fitted with Mavic R-SYS wheels and Mavic Yksion tires. The chosen color, white with a varnish finish, gives it a sober, elegant sheen.

The Axxome 350 is designed for performance. It targets a clientele of demanding cyclosportifs. This model is an evolution of the Axxome 250, which we tested and were particularly impressed by its fun, high-performance handling. In its evolution, the 350 is more rigid, with the aim of increasing its performance. Aesthetically very similar to the 250, its big brother has been upgraded with new carbon fiber and a redesigned rear triangle. In fact, the chainstay and seatstays form a single tube, with no intermediate connecting pieces. As a result, road vibrations are diffused along the entire length of this continuous tube, providing greater comfort without compromising frame rigidity. Still on the subject of rigidity, it's worth noting that the absence of connecting parts results in a very rigid rear end, the effects of which are particularly noticeable during hard acceleration.

Axxome 350 Origin
The use of a new, reinforced carbon fiber in high-stress areas not only delivers superior performance, but also reduces weight. An XS frame weighs in at just 870 grams. The fork is all-carbon. The wide, aerodynamic profile makes for lively, precise steering, always appreciated on twisty, technical descents.
Once in the saddle, the Axxome 350, like its predecessor, is pleasant and easy to ride from the very first pedal stroke. Comfort is very much in evidence. Even on roads with average performance and rough tarmac, the frame filters vibrations very well. The R-SYS wheels play their part well too. As the kilometers roll by, you get into the swing of things by shifting up a gear. The frame reproduces power perfectly, especially when you take off like a dancer. The sensations are excellent, and you can't help but get carried away until your legs start to burn and call you to order!

The qualities that made the Axxome 250 so strong are still there, but with added stiffness, making the bike even more dynamic. The Axxome 350 is playful in its behavior, and you immediately feel at ease.

Tested over several days, on all types of roads (flat climbs, steep climbs, technical descents, ending on the slopes of the Ventoux), for several hours, this Axxome proved to be very versatile and at ease in steep inclines. Whether you're an up-tempo rider or a fast, nervous one, nothing moves. The bike's low inertia will take you to new heights! Conversely, on descents, the precision of the fork will quickly give you confidence. On hard braking, the fork doesn't flinch.

In conclusion, the good impression left by the Axxome 250 is confirmed by its evolution. The Axxome 350 is a successful model, because its extra stiffness doesn't detract from comfort, and gives it superior performance. This model is easy to use and versatile, making it the perfect choice for cyclists looking for a thrill!
