Tips before purchasing

Choosing a bike depends first and foremost on how you ride, your favourite terrain, your riding position and your expectations in terms of comfort and performance.

To help you, the Origine Bike Finder asks you a few questions about your cycling habits and preferences. It then guides you towards the models best suited to your needs.

The Gravel is designed for more versatile use. Its geometry and build options mean it can be ridden on both roads and trails.

It also offers greater options for carrying luggage, making it suitable for travel, bikepacking and ultra-distance riding.

All Origine models are designed to be used by both women and men. The entire Origine range is therefore unisex.

In fact, our approach is based on bespoke customisation rather than a specific range. You can adjust many aspects of your bike to suit your body shape: frame size, stem length, handlebar width, crank length, saddle setback and handlebar height.

Carbon fibre generally helps to reduce weight and improve vibration damping. It is particularly suitable when performance and comfort are the top priorities.

Aluminium offers a robust and durable solution, particularly suited to versatile use and travel.

The choice therefore depends above all on how you use your bike, your priorities and your budget.

A bike that’s tailored to your body shape is essential for your comfort, riding enjoyment and performance.

There are several ways to set your bike up:

1/ You already know your settings
You can choose the frame size, stem length, handlebar width, handlebar height, crank length and saddle width.

2/ You’d like some guidance
Our Size Calculator will recommend the frame size and key components based on a few simple measurements.
You can also select the ‘Choose sizes later’ option when placing your order. A technical adviser will contact you within 48 working hours to assist you.

3/ You already have a posture analysis
Please also select ‘Choose sizes later’, then send us your posture analysis or the settings for your current bike. We’ll adjust your configuration accordingly.

Our technical advisers will be able to take your measurements into account to tailor your setup.

The Sport position is designed for regular cyclists and those looking for a more aerodynamic position. The recommended handlebar height is lower.

The Comfort position favours a more upright riding position, particularly for occasional cyclists or those cycling long distances.

As a guide, Origine recommends:

under 1.70 m: 170 mm
from 1.70 m to 1.85 m: 172.5 mm
over 1.85 m: 175 mm

These figures are general recommendations. The appropriate length may also depend on your body type and how you use the product.

Origine does not offer non-standard geometry.

However, you can adjust a number of components to suit your body shape: handlebars, stem, seatpost, saddle, crankset and head tube height.

In accordance with the technical specifications set out in the FAQ, the bikes are designed and guaranteed for a maximum rider weight of 110 kg, including equipment.

The weight shown in the configurator is based on a size S frame.

You should allow for an extra 75 g per size.

Using the configurator, build your bike and then click ‘Save’.

Enter your email address to receive a copy of your configuration.

No, a complete Origine bike comes with all the components required for it to function properly and safely.

Only the saddle and pedals may be missing from the order.

With the ‘Colour on Demand’ option, you can specify a RAL code or an automotive paint code in the comments section of your order.

Certain finishes, such as chrome or glitter finishes, cannot be produced.

Your bike’s suspension is preset at the factory based on the weight you provided when you created your account.

It is possible to use a trailer with the Gravel Origine models, provided they have compatible axles.

As the Graxx and Trail are lightweight bikes, however, you should take the total load being carried into account.

Only Direct Drive indoor trainers with an integrated cassette and roller models that do not block the wheel axles are permitted.

Models fitted with a clamp, a screw or which exert external pressure on the frame are prohibited.

Only road bikes and gravel bikes are compatible. Mountain bikes and e-bikes are not.

When using the trainer, avoid standing on the pedals and protect the frame from sweat splashes.

Support schemes may vary depending on your region.

We recommend that you check the applicable conditions with your local authority or the relevant public service.

In Europe, electric assistance is limited to 25 km/h.

The motor automatically cuts off assistance when you exceed 25 km/h. You can continue to pedal and ride at a higher speed, but without electric assistance.

Outlet bikes are brand-new bikes, sourced mainly from customer returns or clearance stock.

It is also possible to test ride Origine bikes at certain trade fairs and events such as Roc d’Azur, Vélo Vert Festival, Pass’Portes, Nature is Bike, Vélo In Paris and Bike Brussels (list not exhaustive).

Click on ‘Cancel or change the appointment’ in the confirmation email you received.

Once you have cancelled the appointment, you will be able to select a new slot from the online calendar.

The lead times for preparing your order are:

These lead times are calculated from the date of full payment confirmation and confirmation of size selection.

If a selected component has a longer lead time, delivery will take place within one to two weeks from the date specified for that component.

Once you have received the dispatch notification, the carrier should normally contact you within 2 to 3 working days. You can track your delivery via the carrier specified in this email.

If you have not heard from them by then, please contact us via our contact form, stating your name and order number.

For collection in person from the factory, you will receive an email when your order is ready. You can then choose your preferred collection slot.

For home delivery, you will receive an email notifying you that your order has been dispatched. The carrier will then contact you to arrange delivery.

Would you like to know how the warranty works?

The warranty is managed directly at our factory by our after-sales service teams. Your point of contact is an expert who will be able to provide you with an answer or an explanation, decide whether to send you a replacement part, or arrange for your bike to be serviced.

The phenomenon known as ‘toe overlap’ is not a fault; it can occur depending on frame geometry, crank lengths and shoe sizes.

This occurs when manoeuvring at very low speeds, below 3 km/h. During normal use, this will not occur.

Interview of your bike

Origine frees you from having to rely on a single retail outlet by offering you a wide range of options for maintaining your bike.

Origine works with nearly 400 technicians, also known as Service Centres, some of whom can come to your home.

You can also have your bike serviced by your usual technician or at the Origine factory.

When you choose a tubeless set-up, the puncture protection is fitted at the factory whilst the bike is being assembled.

Regular top-ups are required.

The recommended quantities are:

700 × 25: 15 ml
700 × 28/32: 20 ml
700 × 35/45: 25 ml
29 × 2.0/2.2: 40 to 50 ml
29 × 2.3/2.4: 50 to 60 ml

The recommended torque values are:

seatpost: 5 to 7 Nm
stem (on a pivot): 5 Nm
handlebars: 5 Nm
seat clamp: 5 Nm
seat post clamp: 12 Nm
gear shifters: 5 Nm
rear derailleur hanger: 8 to 10 Nm
cassette: 30 to 50 Nm
derailleur cable: 5 to 7 Nm
bottom bracket cap: 0.7 to 1.5 Nm
cranks: 12 to 15 Nm
bottle cage bolts: 2.5 Nm

What should you do if your bike is making a strange noise, squeaking or creaking?

Start by checking:

that the pedal axles are lubricated and tightened
that the wheel axles are lubricated and tightened
that the chain isn’t rubbing against the front derailleur cage
that the chainring bolts are tight

If the noise persists, the bottom bracket may need lubricating.

If the problem persists despite these checks, please contact our team.

You can have your bike repainted by Origine. This service is available for €450 including VAT.

This includes:

Stripping the frame
Sanding
Preparation
Painting (single or two-tone)
Decal application (of your choice)
Clear coat
Packaging
Return delivery of the frame kit.

Conditions:

Protective pads are fitted beneath the down tube and at the chainstay on the bikes in question.

It is also recommended that you protect the frame from sweat splashes when using the bike on a home trainer.

In the event of a chip, scratch or impact, you can order a touch-up bottle in your chosen shade.

Assembly, painting, adjustment and dispatch are carried out at our factory in Rouvignies.

The frames are cast by specialist partners, using moulds designed in-house.

Origine sells its bikes directly, without a network of retailers.

The Right Fit Guarantee means you can cycle with peace of mind on your first few rides.

If, within 30 days of receiving your bike, you’re not happy with your riding position, we’ll replace the necessary components to adjust your bike, at our expense.

You have 14 days from receipt of your order to exercise your right of withdrawal.

Products must be new, complete and in their original packaging. Products specially designed outside the range available on the website are excluded from this provision.

In the event of an accident, the discount applied to the replacement of the frame kit depends on how long ago the original invoice was issued:

less than 6 months: 50 per cent
less than one year: 45 per cent
less than two years: 35 per cent
more than two years: 25 per cent

Origine does not hold sales or take part in Black Friday on its range of bicycles.

The bicycles are made to order and the ranges are not subject to annual model changes. Prices are therefore set to remain consistent throughout the year.

The stated weight of the bicycles is given with a tolerance of ±3 per cent due to manufacturing processes.

For frames, the weight stated corresponds to a size S frame fitted with the headset, axles, seatpost clamp, derailleur hanger and any additional components included in the configuration.

There may be a difference of approximately 20 to 40 g between two frame sizes, depending on the model.

Trail

Almost as light and comfortable as many carbon frames, the new Trail gravel frame is impressive for its performance and riding predictability. What is the secret of this performance? A highly technical construction. The tubes are extruded from 6061 aluminium, a very high quality, rigid and light alloy and then triple butted.

T4 and T6 heat treatments

The welds are a work of art. The finish superb and highly resistant. The thin tubes and internal routing gives it a classic look. Hand polished welds. The frame is first strengthened with a T4 heat treatment prior to a post-weld T6 heat treatment.

Carbon fork

The Full Carbon for in High Modulus Toray® UD T800 with 3K M40 reinforced carbon for the crown. The Japanese firm Toray® is the world's largest manufacturer of carbon fibre, its fibre is used in several fields such as car racing and the aeronautical industry. Toray fibre is used, for example, in the manufacture of the Boeing 787.
The fork is none other than that used for its bigger brother, the Origine Graxx. The wide, aero profile gives the fork stacks of lateral stiffness for surefooted, precision steering. The lay-up of the unidirectional fibres absorbs road buzz and reduces fatigue on long-distance rides.

Hand-painted in our factory

All Origine frames and forks are painted in our workshops in the North of France.  We have chosen to use water-soluble automotive quality paints only. Their resistance to impact and abrasion is far superior to that of frames painted in Asia and the ecological impact is greatly reduced.
Like all Origine products, it comes with a lifetime guarantee and can be fully customised using our proprietary configurator to reflect you.

Kit cadre Gravel Trail

Mon kit cadre Origine Trail est vraiment top, j’en suis plus que satisfait. Il est aussi agréable pour le vélotaf que pour les longues sorties, que ce soit sur piste cyclable ou sur les chemins de forêt. Le cadre taille parfaitement, il est léger et robuste, tout ce qu’il faut pour se faire plaisir tout en restant durable dans le temps. Il est aussi super pratique, avec des points de fixations un peu partout, idéal pour un futur projet de bikepacking. Je recommande chaudement !

Gravel Trail - Shimano GRX820 Mono - Prymahl Vega A30R

Merci à l'équipe pour leur conseils dans le choix de la taille du cadre et du groupe. Pour un cadre alu, le Trail est confortable. De plus, il permet de créer un vélo assez léger. J'ai choisi le groupe GRX 820 1x12v (40x10-51) qui fonctionne très bien et correspond à mes besoins. Les roues Prymahl Vega A30 R Wide équipées des Continental Terra Trail 700x40 tubeless sont excellentes. Elles répondent bien et les pneus offrent une bonne adhérence sur terrain gras voire très gras. Je suis très satisfait de mon achat.

Kit cadre Trail

Apres l'achat d'un kit cadre pour un Axxome en 2021, et très satisfait de cet achat, c'est avec plaisir que mon épouse ma offert l'année dernière un kit cadre Trail , léger , réactif pour l'Axxome ,passe partout, polyvalent pour le Trail , toujours autant satisfait de la marque nordiste. Je recommande à ceux qui hésite encore .

Gravel Trail - Shimano GRX 400 2x10v - Fulcrum Rapid Red 900

je suis très satisfait du service après vente, suite a un petit défaut au montage de ma guidoline, il mon renvoyer une autre guidoline neuve a monter chez un revendeur de vélo de mon choix, la prestation étant aussi prise en compte, en ce qui concerne le vélo il est parfait et tout est arrivé bien réglé et emballé convenablement, juste un petit bémol la livraison a été dépassé d'un mois mais il mon offert en dédommagement un maillot de qualité. maintenant j'ai plus qu'a partir a l'aventure en bike packing mais sera pour 2025 en Norvège

Gravel Trail - Shimano GRX 810 - Fulcrum Rapid Red 300

Je suis très satisfait du gravel trail équipé en grx810 avec des roues fulcrum rapid red 300. Après un voyage de plus 20000km parfois sur des pistes difficiles, il n'a presque pas bronché. La transmission à toujours était fluide avec l'entretient des câbles de temps en temps, le freinage efficace tout le long, et les quasiment aucun soucis avec les roues malgré beaucoup de piste. Et très très fun comme vélo! Donc merci!

Gravel Trail - Shimano GRX - Prymahl Vega A30R

Cela fait maintenant 6 mois et plus de 2000 km avec mon Trail et je suis super satisfait de ce vélo. je souhaitais un acier mais on m'a conseillé le Trail pour sa géométrie ( douleurs dans la nuque) c est parfait . je groupe GRX est génial ! j ai fais PR 145 avec des pneu de 38 mm pas de douleur aux poignées ni au cou .Et avec des pneus de 25 mm pour Lille Hardelot c'était nickel . j ai juste changé le 11-32 avec un 11-34 ...parfois 2 dents c est deux dents :) Alors GO GO ORIGINE !

Trail Flatbar - GRX400 6Fulcrum Rapid red 900

Je suis très satisfait de mon gravel trail reçu en début d'année 2024. Le cadre est plus ramassé que celui de mon précédent vélo. Il est très réactif et agréable à piloter une fois les bons réglages trouvés (recul de selle et potence). A 77 ans il me permet des sorties plus longues sans avoir recours à une assistance électrique. Merci aux concepteurs pour cette belle réalisation.

Trail Flatbar Ambre Fossile - GRX 600 1x11v - Roues Fulcrum Rapid red 900

Pour moi le Trail Flatbar est parfait pour une utilisation mixte route, gravel, randonnée, vélotaf et donc pour une personne qui ne souhaite avoir qu'un seul vélo. C' est un vélo plaisir qui me permet de ne pas me cantonner à une seule discipline. De continuer là où les autres s'arrêtent ...

Gravel Trail - Shimano GRX600 1x11v - Fulcrum Rapid Red 500

J'ai déjà trouvé le site Origine très bien fait avec un large choix, quasiment du sur-mesure. J'ai reçu mon vélo 2 semaines après ma commande. J'ai un trail monté en mono-plateau grx 600,roues Fulcrum 500,et pneus Terra trail largeur 40. C'est vraiment un vélo génial , léger et très agréable. Je fais du gravel un peu engagé, limite VTT parfois mais même sur la route avec des pneus de 40 gonflés à 1.6 bars on n'est pas collé à la route. Je conseille vivement les vélos Origine

Gravel Trail - Shimano GRX600 - Fulcrum Mavic Allroad S

Je suis très content du vélo acheté chez vous, il a désormais plus de 500km au compteur (et ca va continuer à monter) et j'aime beaucoup sa compacité, son dynamisme, sa réactivité (en plus de le trouver à mon goût (beau). J'ai eu besoin d'un peu de temps pour me faire à la selle et aussi à son équilibre lorsque je monte des cols en danseuse, mais je m'y suis fait désormais. Il faudra probablement que je fasse encore quelques petits ajustements de position, mais bref, je suis très content. Et en plus, c'est un vélo Made In France, livré dans les temps.

Gravel Trail - Shimano GRX400 - Fulcrum Rapid Red 500

Bonjour, je voulais témoigner de mon expérience au guidon d'un Origine Trail acquis voilà un an pile ! Ce vélo me ravis à chaque sortie, il est très agréable sur routes ou chemins ,train avant précis, maniable et confortable pour un alu. Configuration en GRX 600 46/30 avec cassette en 11/34 il passe partout ! La peinture bleue Pacific en magnifique et résistante. N'hésitez plus, allez configurez le votre sur le site vous trouverez votre bonheur ! Un grand merci à Origine pour faire de si beaux vélos !

Gravel Trail - Shimano Tiagra 4720 - Mavic Allroad

Pour me remettre au vélo, j'ai commandé fin octobre 2022 un trail orange tangerine monté Tiagra, cassette 11/34, pédalier 50/34 et roue Mavic Allroad. Je l'ai réceptionné début décembre 2022. Une machine polyvalente comme je les aime. Du pure plaisir à l'usage sur les routes et les chemins. Merci à tous pour votre professionnalisme et sérieux. Je suis l'heureux propriétaire d'un Gravel Trail. Lors des premiers tours de roue, j'ai été frappé par la facilité de roulage. La prise en main à été facile, je me suis senti très bien dessus. Je pensais que mes bonnes sensations étaient liées à mon excitation après une très longue attente de livraison. Les sorties suivantes, toujours de bonnes sensations. J'ai prêté mon vélo à un ami qui veut investir dans un Gravel. Il a eu la même satisfaction que moi ! Il a donc commandé le même vélo dimanche dernier! Bref je contamine tout mon entourage.
